Advice and preparation

On the slopes, everyone is responsible: prepare yourself and those around you.

Advice for all skiers

  • Please keep to lesson times, out of respect for the other people in the group.
  • Remember to be insured, as first aid is not free and theBelle Plagne esf does not reimburse lessons. For more information, go to the"Get insured" page.
  • Ski passes are not included in the price of lessons and are compulsory for group lessons and private lessons. For more information, go to the "Get a ski pass" page.
  • Stay hydrated and eat properly: Throughout the day, you'll be at an altitude of between 1800 and 3000 m, making efforts, facing the cold or the sun.
  • Warm up your muscles and stretch to avoid injuries and aches.
  • Choose the right equipment for your level, your size and the nature of your activities.
  • Respect the environment: keep your rubbish (paper, tissues, plastic, cigarette ends, etc.) with you until you find a rubbish bin in the resort, and don't throw anything away on the slopes.

Advice for parents

For your child's well-being:
  • Equip your child correctly: anorak, hat or cap, mittens, sunglasses, sun cream, handkerchiefs.
  • Helmets are strongly recommended for children on the slopes.
  • Avoid following your child during lessons.
  • Leave it to the instructors to decide whether to change classes. They are professionals who know how to recognise your child's real level.
  • Respect the pace at which your child progresses, i.e. if they start to make snowplough turns and you take them out on more difficult slopes to please them, you could be hindering their progress and even putting them in difficulty.
  • Always be positive and reward their progress.
