FAQ

One questionin the lead

What is the difference between a guide and a ski instructor?
Guides have a qualification that gives them greater prerogatives when it comes to off-piste skiing, in particular skiing on glaciers.
Do I need to bring safety equipment to take part?
If you have your own equipment, you can of course take it with you. If you don't, the esf will provide you with a bag containing a shovel and probe, as well as an avalanche beacon.
What equipment do I need for the ski course?
You'll need skis that are suitable for off-piste skiing. For ski touring days, you will need special equipment such as sealskins. Wearing a helmet is not compulsory but strongly recommended.
