The proper equipment
Tempo Dualski
Discover the latest in skiing technology with our full suspension chassis. Enjoy a gliding experience that feels just like that of a non-disabled skier.
Biski or Kart
This toboggan-like device is designed for individuals with lower-limb disabilities, often combined with upper-limb limitations (such as quadriplegia or cerebral palsy). It features a seat mounted on a frame connected to two skis for stability and is steered by operating two hand levers. This equipment is suitable only for green and blue slopes!
Uniski or Monoski
This equipment, popular among individuals with lower-limb disabilities (such as paraplegics or double leg amputees), features a shock-absorbing frame mounted on a single ski with stabilisers. Versatile and widely used, it offers many opportunities on the slopes.
The basic rules of seated skiing
Disabled skiers enjoy outdoor sports in full integration with non-disabled skiers, using the same lifts and slopes and having similar opportunities for progress. To ensure safety, seated skiers must follow the guidelines set by slope professionals, ski lift operators, and other users.
- All seated skiers should be accompanied by an able-bodied skier who can assist if needed (such as on ski lifts).
- Skier must not cause delays or inconvenience on the ski lifts and should avoid damaging the seats with their equipment.
- It is important to follow slope rules and signage.
- Not all ski lifts and corresponding slopes are accessible to seated skiers, so be mindful and respect the rules!
